✧ LAPIS LAZULI MEANING ✧
A stone of royalty, lapis lazuli's deep blue, flecked with golden pyrite, has been treasured for over 6,000 years. It was ground into the ultramarine paint of Renaissance masterpieces and inlaid in Tutankhamun's golden burial mask.
Lapis is a universal symbol of wisdom and truth, associated with clear thinking, honest communication and knowing yourself. Connected to the throat and third eye chakras, it is a wonderful stone for creatives, performers and anyone who wants to speak their truth.
The mines of Badakhshan in Afghanistan have supplied lapis for more than 6,000 years. The Sumerians prized it as a piece of the night sky, and in their myths the goddess Inanna wore lapis jewellery. It is also associated with friendship and intuition.
