African Jade (A.K.A Green Grossular Garnet) is a calcium aluminum silicate species of semi-precious gemstone, with a hardness of 7 out of 10 on the Mohs scale, mined in Africa. African Jade varies in different shades of green, from emerald green to forest green while other colours of Grossular Garnet range from light to dark yellow, gold, orange, scarlet and red, and the highly sought green colour. There are different types of Grossular Garnet. Hydrogrossular Garnet has massive veins of opaque Grossular Garnet resembling Jade found in Transvaal, South Africa. Thus, this variety of Grossular Garnet is also known as African Jade and Garnet Jade.

The ultimate mood boosting piece

I love my little groovy flower necklace in Labradorite. Every time I catch a glimpse of it it makes me smile. It is so easy to wear; it is a substantial piece of beautifully coloured labradorite yet it is light and unobtrusive. The 18” silver chain layers well with my simple vegan silk necklace too. I might just have to buy some more - maybe two so I can make matching earrings? The Healing Pear is a wonderful company to deal with. I absolutely love my labradorite groovy flower necklace. As always, the quality is fantastic. The carved flower is classy and cute in equal measures. I love that it’s unique. There are others out there but none exactly the same as mine. Another stunning, quality piece.
