Labradorite Hand Carved Butterfly Vegan Silk Necklace

A gorgeous, shimmering blue labradorite hand carved butterfly strung on vegan silk thread, finished with either recycled sterling silver, 14ct gold plated or 9ct gold fastenings. A high vibe piece with a minimalist feel; one you can wear comfortably every day, layered or on its own.

Butterfly wings display a blue shimmer created by microscopic structures on the wing scales that reflect light, rather than pigment. This produces an iridescent effect that changes with movement and viewing angle. This labradorite shows a similar effect, with flashes of blue revealed as the stone catches the light.

Please choose a length of thread, and be precise if you'd like it to fit close to the neck. Be mindful to avoid making it too tight; we want this to be a comfortable talismanic necklace that you can barely feel. You will receive one of the butterflies available. As these are all hand carved they are all slightly different - please allow for subtle differences in stone and shape.

Labradorite, with its remarkable play of colour, is a stone of transformation. This multi hued feldspar mineral makes for an ideal companion through change and uncertainty, imparting strength, perseverance and positive thinking. It is known for its power to make one feel elated for absolutely no reason. This, as well as its ability to simultaneously connect one to earth energies, makes it my go-to stone for the loveliest mingle of happiness and grounding. While those necessary grounding energies are present, it mostly connects with the upper chakras: throat, third eye and crown. It creates a clear path for communication of all kinds, heightens intuition and psychic abilities, and reveals one’s innate magical powers. It is a true stone of magic that will benefit just about anyone.

Labradorite was discovered in Labrador, Canada, by Moravian missionaries in 1770. This is where and when it gets its name, however, the mineral is referenced previously in legends by Inuit tribes, and was known to be in use by the Boethuk peoples of Newfoundland and Labrador. I implore you to do some digging on those many myths and legends that surround this mystical mineral.
